TEASER: Intact is honoured at the Women in Governance’s Annual Recognition Gala

Women in Governance has awarded Platinum Parity Certification to Intact for our actions to support and advance women in business.

Platinum Parity Certification—the highest level awarded—was presented to Intact at Women in Governance’s Annual Recognition Gala on March 3, 2020. Charles Brindamour was also an honourary co-president of the event and accepted Intact’s award – one of only seven at the platinum level.

Women in Governance was established in 2010 to support women in their leadership development, career enhancement, and access to board seats. The certification program, which has four levels ranging from bronze to platinum, evaluates parity at an organization’s decision-making levels. It also assesses an organization’s commitment to putting mechanisms in place to enable women at all levels to achieve career advancement, creating a pipeline of female talent. Certification is open to organizations with more than 400 employees.

Over the past 15 years, Intact has made a concerted effort to increase the number of women on its Board. In 2004, women made up 25 per cent of the Board. As of 2013, the proportion of women on the Board was consistently above 30 per cent and today it is 42 per cent.

“I am pleased that Intact has been recognized as a platinum-level company by Women in Governance,” Charles Brindamour said. “We are committed to creating opportunities for women to reach their full potential at all levels within our company and look forward to the continued strides we will make.”

As a company, we believe that when you bring more voices and perspectives to the table, it changes the dynamic and unlocks greater opportunities. It positively impacts employee engagement, the customer experiences we provide, our operations, and our ability to succeed.
