Intact Financial Corporation named one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People

TORONTO, Jan. 10, 2017 /CNW/ - Intact Financial Corporation (TSX: IFC) is proud to be recognized as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People for 2017. This special designation, awarded by Mediacorp Canada Inc., recognizes employers that offer the nation's best workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers.

In 2016, millennials accounted for 35 per cent of Intact Financial Corporation's employees, 56 per cent of whom were under the age of 30. Many of these employees work in sales, actuarial, technology, claims and commercial insurance.

Some of Intact's training programs include the Commercial and Special Risks Trainee Programs, technology internships, Leadership Development Program and Actuarial Co-op Program. Internal development programs such as Leadership Visa and Strive provide employees with the skills they need to progress in their careers. Intact also offers benefits like tuition assistance and bonuses paid when employees complete relevant courses and professional designations.

In the last few years, the company has supported employees in launching nine employee networks across the country including women's networks, LGBTA network, healthy living groups and young professionals networks.
