In December 2013, Louis Marcotte was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Intact Financial Corporation, where he oversees the financial affairs of the organization and investor relations. Before his appointment, Mr. Marcotte held the role of Senior Vice President of Strategic Distribution, overseeing Intact’s investments in the broker network and the development of financial solutions for the company’s brokers and partners. Prior to that, Mr. Marcotte was Treasurer of Intact Financial Corporation responsible for Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Treasury.

Mr. Marcotte has more than 30 years of progressive international experience in financial management with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, financing, system implementation, public reporting, tax, and corporate governance.

He is a graduate of McGill University, holds an executive MBA from the Vlerick School of Business, and is a Fellow of the Quebec Order of CPAs. Mr. Marcotte also serves on the Board of Governors of Finance Montreal and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Chapter of Financial Executive International Canada. In May 2021, Mr. Marcotte joined the federal government’s Sustainable Finance Action Council to provide input on the foundational market infrastructure needed for a stable and reliable sustainable finance market in Canada. On the Council, he is leading one of three expert subgroups tasked with bridging data gaps.
