Benoit Morissette was appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Risk and Actuarial Officer in June 2021. In this key role, Mr. Morissette provides risk management leadership for the organization at the strategic and business management levels and manages the insurance risk of the group by overseeing its corporate actuarial and reinsurance operations. This is an expansion of his scope appointed in July 2020 as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk and Actuarial Officer.

Mr. Morissette joined Intact in 2001 as Vice President Actuarial. After a number of progressive assignments, in 2010 he took the role of Deputy Senior Vice President responsible for pricing and underwriting for the Direct to Consumer Distribution channel. In February 2013, Mr. Morissette was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Internal Auditor, where he led the development and implementation of Intact’s internal audit activities and ensured that Intact is in accordance with the expected standards of corporate governance, compliance and ethics. In January 2016, he was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer where he was responsible for providing risk management leadership. In January 2018, he was appointed Senior Vice President and Group Chief Actuary, where he played a key role in managing the insurance risk of the group by overseeing its corporate actuarial and reinsurance operations.

Throughout his career, Mr. Morissette has served on various committees of the Insurance Bureau of Canada, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Direct Relationship Insurers.

Mr. Morissette holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Sciences from Laval University and he is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, as well as a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
