Frédéric (Fred) Cotnoir
Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer
Frédéric Cotnoir was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Intact in 2021. Mr. Cotnoir is responsible for Intact’s legal, compliance, internal audit and corporate secretarial functions. In 2024, he expanded his portfolio by taking on responsibility for Corporate Affairs and Communications, including the government relations, and social impact and ESG functions. Mr. Cotnoir joined Intact in 2016 as Senior Vice-President, Corporate and Legal Services and Secretary.
Prior to joining Intact, Mr. Cotnoir was a partner at McCarthy Tétrault, where he practised law in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities laws, corporate governance and the regulation of financial institutions.
Mr. Cotnoir has a law degree from Sherbrooke University and Queen’s University, and a Masters in Law and Accounting from the London School of Economics.
